I love fairies, there’s no question about that. If I’ve said it once I’ve said a million times: “I do believe in fairies, I do, I do!!” I’m not crazy, I think Walt Disney believed in fairies too, and so did J M Barrie, the writer of Peter Pan. I have a gnome in my garden and a bunch of fairies beautifying my patio as they hang from a fairy mobile. So, as a natural progression, I am now making my own fairy world…out of paper. This is the scene that sits on one of my night stands:
The elf was by itself for a while, until the fairy “showed up” yesterday. It is my very first quilled fairy and, although it is flawed, I love her. I love 3D quilling.
The fairy is all paper. When I finished it, I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist and then with a sealant.
Then I have her standing on several buttons, which is something that I did for the flowers as well.
I cut out the shape of a leave from a foam sheet and colored it with markers to create a base for my little fairy scene.
So I leave you all with another view of my fairyland:
