3D Quilled Doll

I made this 3D quilled doll as a birthday present for a young girl that I know.  But I think that I’m going to made one for myself too…lol  This is a hybrid doll.  Part of it is quilled and part of it is not.  The skirt, for instance, I made out of cardstock.  Originally, it was white, but I sprayed it with my homemade glimmer mist, which I changed by adding a few drops of red acrylic paint.  Since the paint was very diluted, the end result was a salmon pinkish color.

I used the same cardstock for making the brim of the hat.

The rest of the doll was hand quilled.  I added some ribbon bows as the perfect finishing touch.  When the doll was complete I sprayed several times with clear homemade glimmer mist.

  1. It's beautiful! At first glance, I would have mistaken it for a doll wearing a Filipiniana dress just like the Filipiniana Barbie doll editions i saw years ago at a mall here in our country. WOW!!!
