This snowflake was a wooden shape on sale at Michael’s last weekend. As soon as I saw it I envisioned exactly how I wanted it to look. I wanted glitter, then glitter and last…you guessed it, more glitter…lol
The one tip that I have is, start from the inside out. The workflow is easier if you start there. I learned the hard way. Let’s see, I used my Martha Stewart glitter for the blue center. Its really fine glitter. Then I used bigger glitter in the middle. The outside is a mix of mother of pearl glitter, clear bugle beads, and white glitter. I mixed everything with Elmer’s glue because I am out of Modge Podge and it worked. I finished everything by spraying it with strong hair spray. I figured it would help seal the glitter. It sort of did. It was one of those crazy experiments…lol I left everything to dry for 24 hours. Then I took ribbon that I’ve had in my stash for a couple of years and I took out the…(drumroll please)…bowdabra! Yes, I have a bowdabra! I got it a long time ago but I was sort of, well afraid to use it…lol I didn’t want to try and fail…lol The bow is not perfect, but I’m happy with it. The snowflake looks great on my tree.
