Photo Tips Fridays-Tip #10

Here are a few guidelines to help you take care of your memory cards:

1-Let your camera finish writing the information to the card before you turn it off.  Wait until the light stops blinking.

2-Turn off your camera before removing the card.

3-Don’t let your card get full to capacity.

4-Store your cards where they won’t get damaged or dirty.

5-Don’t touch the electrical contacts on your card.

6-Don’t let your card get wet.

7-Instead of deleting photos from your card, download them to your computer and then reformat the card in your camera.

  3. Vicki, # 2 is because you might pull out the card when the camera is reading or writing something to the card and you might damage the card. # 3 is because your camera might tell you that you have more space left in the card than you actually do. If you try to take photos unto a card that is alreafy full you run the chance of damaging your card.
